I'm a Winner!

I am thrilled to announce I won the Earrings Category through an annual contest held for customers of DJ Beads!

Here's a picture of my 'award' winning earrings...

Aren't they purty? I even made the chain myself, which I was quite proud of and did all the wire wrapping, which I totally suck at, but got better on this piece...

Also, I listed my Diva Alien Pendant on my Etsy site. She's a bit weird, but I love her. I am making a series of these babies, and would love to get your ideas and opinions on them...

Hope all those that Celebrate the 4th had a safe and happy day!

I've Decided to Blog and I mean it this time....

I'm a relative newbie when it comes to blogging, but it's time to get serious...

For those that don't know me.... My name is Sooz and I'm a polymer clay and bead addict. I don't need a 12 step program to tell me I need help. Just ask my darling hubby! It really isn't my fault... No really! When my
daughter was 18mos old, I gave birth to two more girls and she didn't like that very much. So, we started crafting while the little ones napped. It started simple enough, pipe cleaners, artificial flowers, wooden beads... I drew faces on the beads and we made little fairies. Then, I picked up a package of Sculpey... So, then I was immediately addicted to sculpting with this clay and found out I needed to get all sorts of cool tools and different clay to do all sorts of wowee zowee stuff! After about a year of that, I decided to go to a weekend retreat. I planned on claying free of six little hands trying to smoosh, smash or eat my creations. I sat down to a demo where this lady beaded around a cabochon... Clay? What Clay? Those teeny seed beads kept me in an enraptured trance for the rest of the day.

Three years ago this happened and I am only more addicted to the beads and clay! Now, I've started making beads out of clay (something I swore I wouldn't do... LOL) and have merged my loves a bit with sculptural beads...

I sell from my Etsy site and sometimes from eBay.... I look forward to being a part of this community!
